Meet the people that made this book happen.

Cathy would later say that she knew she had finally again come to reside in a real neighborhood when Michelle, the Maddox's teenage daughter, came knocking at the door one evening. After politely introducing herself she asked to borrow an onion. Her mom, busy cooking dinner next door, was an onion short.

With Bigy's husband, Tim, being a professional fisherman and expert grill man, it would just be a matter of a couple of barbecues later that a blooming friendship opened the door to a wonderful working relationship. Monterey Jack was begun.

"I got involved with the project not long after starting my own company," says Maddox. "Not much later I came to realize that life was never quite the same," she laughs. "There was a phenomenal synergy that we have that sustained us throughout the project."

Before starting her own company, Birgit was Art Director for Harcourt e-learning, a Harcourt Brace Company recently acquired by Thompson Learning. As such, she lead in the development of an Online University. Also involved with Archipelago Productions, she produced fully narrated Science College courses on CD for Introduction to Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Micro and Macroeconomics.

Maddox received her degree at the Graphic School of Arts (Johannes Gutenberg Druckgewerbeschule) in Heidelberg, Germany and in Baden-Baden at the Graphic School of Arts. Along with being a skilled artist and designer, Birgit Maddox is wife of fisherman/contractor, Tim, and mother to son Daniel and daughter Michelle.
